AMP finds new chief internally

(20 September 2007 – Australia) AMP has appointed the current managing director of AMP Financial Services, Craig Dunn, to replace outgoing head, Andrew Mohl, from 2008. Mr Dunn will work closely with Mr Mohl from mid October in the interim role of chief operating officer until he takes up his role as chief executive officer on 1 January 2008.

Peter Mason, chairman, AMP, said that the appointment followed an extensive internal and external review that led to the conclusion that Mr Dunn was the best candidate for the role.

He added that Mr Dunn is well placed to build on the current strategy and leverage the assets and capabilities of the company.

Craig Dunn recommended his replacement be Craig Mellor, director of Product Manufacturing, AMP Financial Services. The Board of AMP Limited has accepted the recommendation, to be effective 15 October 2007.

AMP Financial Services is the company’s largest division with business in financial planning and superannuation. Mr Dunn has been head of AMP Financial Services since September 2002 after joining the company in 2000.
