Bank of America appoints new COO for Australia

(22 November 2019 – Australia) Bank of America has appointed Michael Cahill as its global corporate and investment banking chief operating officer for Australia.

Mr Cahill comes to his role at Bank of America after 14 years at Goldman Sachs, where he was most recently business unit manager and chief financial officer for the investment bank in Australian and New Zealand.

He's expected to report to Bank of America chief executive Joe Fayyad, who moved into this role in April this year, and work to grow the company's corporate and investment banking platform in Australia.

"Michael will support Joe Fayyad and work closely with chief operating officer for Australia, Jim Barrett-Lennard, and other members of the Australia Country Leadership Team as we continue to invest in and grow our corporate and investment banking platform in Australia," BoA's Asia-Pac chief operating officer Richard Yacenda, Mr Fayyad and Mr Barrett-Lennard said in an internal email seen by the Financial Review.
