Barclays beefs up wealth management arm
(20 November 2007 – UK) British banking giant Barclays is capitalising on its strong position in wealth management by creating 800 back office jobs to support growing demand.
Most of the new roles will be located in Britain and Singapore.
The bank’s wealth management arm, called Barclays Wealth, is boosting its infrastructure in response to increasing demand for its services globally.
Barclays Wealth has already added 1700 people in less than two years and is set to add 500 more at its Glasgow hub.
Barclays said it was strong in the wealth management market at a time when its competitors were still developing their model.
