BEA launches cardless ATM withdrawal service in Hong Kong

BEA launches cardless ATM withdrawal service in Hong Kong

(26 August 2015 – Hong Kong) The Bank of East Asia (BEA) has introduced a new cardless ATM withdrawal service, the first of its kind in Hong Kong.

The service is now available at all ATMs operated by BEA in Hong Kong.

BEA’s innovative new ATM service allows customers to access cash without an ATM card and to remotely arrange for others to obtain emergency cash.

This advanced and convenient value-added service also enables P2P payment between BEA and non-BEA customers through a secure mobile authentication system.

Customers can now send cash to their children, family members, friends, domestic helpers, and others, who can collect the specified amount at any BEA ATM.

Customers can also use the service themselves when they don’t have their ATM card on hand.

The process is simple, easy to operate, and just as secure as an ATM card, involving double authentication and a one-time password.

Vincent Hui, general manager & head of the Personal Banking Division of BEA said, “We at BEA are proud to be at the forefront of new banking innovations in Hong Kong.

“We strive to ensure the best customer experience possible by anticipating people’s needs and preferences, and creating new, easy-to-use solutions.

“Our cardless ATM service further strengthens our capability in electronic and mobile banking by providing greater convenience and a clearly improved customer experience.”

With one of the largest ATM networks in Hong Kong, BEA plans to further develop its cardless ATM service.

It will be extended to allow the drawdown of personal loans without using an ATM card, and will also be expanded to ATMs operated by BEA and its partner banks abroad, providing greater value to customers travelling overseas.
