BNP announces new appointments to its transaction banking team

(15 August 2018 – Asia) BNP Paribas has announced five new executive appointments in a bid to bolster its transaction banking offering in China and Asia Pacific.

Mahesh Kini and Louise Zhang have both moved to BNP from Deutsche Bank. Mr Kini will take on the role of BNP’s head of cash management, Asia Pacific, while Ms Zhang will be head of transaction Banking China.

The Banks announcement also includes three internal promotions. Zoran Lozevski has been appointed as head of global trade solutions for the Asia Pacific region. Mr Lozevski’s role in Sydney as head of transaction banking Australia and New Zealand will be taken over by Michael Reid. Mr Reid will be responsible for ensuring the Australian and New Zealand transaction banking teams deliver a fully-integrated model to corporate clients.

Timothy Lee, who Ms Zhang will report to, has been promoted to head of transaction banking for Greater China.

The moves come after a difficult six months in Europe for BNP Paribas’s corporate banking division. While corporate banking revenue rose by 12 percent in the second quarter, BNP says it saw a reduction in the number of significant transactions in Europe due to delayed initial public offerings.
