CBA launches online FX service
(13 April 2007 – Australia) Commonwealth Bank of Australia has launched an internet based foreign exchange (FX) product which allows people travelling overseas to order foreign currency which can be collected at a branch within three days of placing the order.
CommSec general manager Matt Comyn said the service, called ExpressFX, would be particularly suited to customers in regional and rural Australia, and also those wanting less common currencies.
He said the service allowed customers to buy foreign currency when it suited them rather than relying on buying currency at airport or tourist destinations, often at a less attractive rate.
'We now provide travellers with online access for foreign currency, Travellers Cash cards, cheques, travel insurance and even finance for a holiday,' Comyn said.
