China Construction Bank in Sydney

China Construction Bank in Sydney

(12 December 2007 – Australia) China Construction Bank (CCB) has opened a Sydney office as part of its overseas expansion plan. The bank follows rivals Bank of China and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, in applying for a license to provide banking services in Australia.

CCB president, Zhang Jianguo, said the bank hoped to upgrade its representative office into a full branch as soon as possible.

The bank said it viewed its Sydney office as a means to grow its global network and boost its corporate image internationally.

CCB had total assets of A$966 billion as at September this year, up 18 percent on the previous year.

It has offices outside China in London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Johannesburg, and New York.
