Deutsche announces new head in China

(2 May 2018 – China) Deutsche Bank has appointed Dirk Lubig as its new head of global transaction banking China.

Mr Lubig replaces veteran banker Mahesh Kini who has left to “pursue opportunities outside the bank”, according to a Deutsche spokesman, after being with the German lender since 2007.

The appointment of Mr Lubig comes as the bank reinforces its vision of China as an important growth market as it cuts back elsewhere.

“Asia, and especially China, continue to be strategically important growth markets for Deutsche Bank. Therefore we are committed to strengthening our capabilities in this regions,” the bank said in a statement.

“An important focus will be to continue to build strong relationships with German, European and US clients in China and to attract Chinese MNCs to support their expansion abroad,” the bank added.
