Dodd-Frank bill one step closer to rewrite

(15 March 2018 – Global) The US Senate has voted to ease bank rules, loosening restrictions on small banks and community lenders.

Congress is now one step closer to a rewrite of the Dodd-Frank reform law which was enacted following the global financial crisis.

The draft legislation now moves to the US House of Representatives where Republicans, who hold a majority in the House, have indicated they want to add more provisions to ease financial regulations.
