Germans and Russians take expertise to Vietnam

(18th November 2003 – Vietnam) Germany’s central bank, Deutsche Bundesbank, has signed an agreement to provide the State Bank of Vietnam with technical assistance and expertise. The arrangement will see Bundesbank officials offering their Vietnamese counterparts training and advice with staff exchanges taking place between the two countries.

In further news, Moscow-based Krasbank has become the first Russian bank to open a branch in Vietnam.

The bank, which conducted some US$10 million of business last year fulfilling contracts for Vietnamese food companies, opened an office in Ho Chi Minh City last week.

One of the bank’s tasks will be to foster further ties and cooperation between the two countries.
