Goldman Sachs Names Co-Head of Investment Banking in Asia

(02 October 2020 – Hong Kong) Goldman Sachs has appointed Iain Drayton as Co-Head of Investment Banking for Asia, ex-Japan.

Based in Hong Kong, Drayton will work alongside Todd Leland in the role and liaise closely with Goldman’s global investment banking heads Dan Dees and Gregg Lemkau, as well as regional country, industry and product heads.

He is currently the Co-Chief Operating Officer at the firm’s Asian investment bank, head of its financial and strategic investors group in Asia-Pacific as well as leading its investment banking services team in the region following 14 years of service for the group. Mr Drayton was named a partner in 2014.

“He’s essentially a career expat, someone who has a passion for Asia and who relocated to Asia early on and hasn’t looked back. Banks love these kind of people as it’s become harder to move here without any regional networks or cultural or language skills” commented a Hong Kong-based executive head hunter.
