Japanese and Philippine cooperation to support small business

(17 May 2018 – Asia) Kansai Mirai Financial Group Inc. has announced that its two banking units have signed a business alliance agreement with Philippine lender RCBC to help Japanese SMEs advance into the Philippine market.

Kobe-based Minato Bank and Osaka-based Kansai Urban Banking Corp. have teamed up with Rizal Commercial Banking Corp.

The two regional banks and the Philippine bank aim to promote business partnerships between their clients while cooperating in offering market and investment information, as well as various support such as accounting and tax services to Japanese businesses looking to enter the Philippine market.

Kiyoshi Miura, deputy president of Kansai Urban Banking Corp. highlighted the need for such services given the increasing number of clients showing interest in the Philippines.
