Lloyds Banking Group appoints new CFO

(15 February 2019 – United Kingdom) Lloyds Banking Group has announced Morgan Stanley banker William Chalmers as its next chief financial officer, replacing George Culmer later in the year.

Mr Chalmers, who has been with Morgan Stanley 19 years, is currently co-head of the investment bank’s global financial institutions group. He will join Lloyds in June.

Mr Chalmers was heavily involved in the deals and balance sheet restructurings that took place following the 2008 financial crisis during his time at Morgan Stanley. He advised HBOS on its sale to what was then Lloyds TSB.
