Middle Kingdom running at 7 percent
(China) - Strong consumer spending and acceptance into the World Trade Organisation (WTO), is driving China's economy at 7 percent in 2002 and 7.3 percent in 2003 according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Assuming a recovery in global economies the ADB sees much of this GDP growth being fuelled by exports which are projected to grow 6 percent and 10 percent in 2002 and 2003, with China's industrial and services sectors growing by 7-9 percent and agriculture by 2-3 percent over the next two years.
