NAB takes off with Virgin Blue

NAB takes off with Virgin Blue

(15 November 2005 – Australia) National Australia Bank will partner Virgin Blue by issuing two new credit cards that will accumulate frequent flyer points. NAB’s new Velocity National Visa Card and the Velocity National Gold American Express Card will be on the market on 30 November when Virgin Blue launches its loyalty program, Velocity.

The cards will feature no annual card fee for the first year, no points cap and will have a balance rate of 3.99 percent a year, the bank said.

NAB chief executive of Australia, Ahmed Fahour, said the deal was an exclusive one with the airline.

"No other credit cards will offer Velocity Points, so Velocity members will be able to earn points faster by using a Velocity National Credit Card," he said.
