NCR wins China bank gig

(29 August 2007 – China) NCR division Teradata has seen off HP and IBM to win the contract to provide Bank of Shanghai with an enterprise data warehouse. The warehouse will give the bank a single view of its business for analysis across departments and systems.

Bank of Shanghai began implementing the T24 core banking system from Temenos in 2004, which has been operational since May 2006.

However, the bank said it needed to develop analytical applications to allow queries and analysis of historical data from various business information systems.

Teradata will work with Bank of Shanghai to build a centralised data warehouse platform by integrating data from T24, personal banking, international business and credit card systems.

A single view of its business will enable the bank to roll out four applications in the areas of anti-money-laundering, compliance, historical data analysis, and management analysis reporting.
