New head of operations and technology at ANZ

(23 February 2007 – Australia) ANZ has appointed David Cartwright as group managing director of Operations, Technology and Shared Services. He will report directly to ANZ chief executive John McFarlane.

Cartwright is relocating to Australia from the UK to take over from Mike Grime who is retiring.

Cartwright had a long career in operations and technology at Barclays Bank in the UK and was most recently chief executive officer at Intelligent Processing Solutions, a cheque processing joint venture between major UK banks and Unisys.

McFarlane paid tribute to Grime with whom he had previously worked at Citibank 25 years ago and also Standard Chartered before ANZ.
