Skinner new head of Trade at HSBC

(1 November 2006 – Australia) HSBC has appointed Andrew Skinner as head of Trade Services in Australia, replacing Mark Evans who has taken up a new role with the bank in Hong Kong. Skinner joined HSBC in 2002 as corporate relationship manager and has more than 17 years experience working for Westpac, St George Bank and State Street. HSBC acquired State Street’s trade banking business.

HSBC head of Commercial Banking David Morton said as more Australian companies looked to grow their business offshore, the bank saw continuing growth for demand and supply chain finance.

"[HSBC] now has more local trade processing offices in Australia than the local majors. This is a strong point of differentiation for HSBC and improves our service offering to commercial customers here," he said.
