Small banks fill top 10 preferred-bank slots

Small banks fill top 10 preferred-bank slots

(19 November 2012 – Australia) When it comes to Australia’s preferred bank, none of the big four even rank in the top 10 according to research from consumer feedback website ProductReview.com.au. Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), Westpac, National Australia Bank (NAB) and ANZ were all outranked by smaller rivals – with ING Direct at number one.

Customer-owned Heritage Bank ranked second and ME Bank – established by super funds and unions was listed as third according to more than 3500 reviews on the website.

Bendigo Bank, Bank of Cyprus and Macquarie Bank were all in the top 10 – the main consensus being a more personal, community based approach is the real winner.
