Top communicator joins banking industry analysts East and Partners

Sydney - 4 September, 2002: Experienced journalist and industry analyst Lachlan Colquhoun has joined East and Partners as Executive Editor and Client Consultant in the firm's Asia Pacific corporate banking practice. Sydney-based Colquhoun comes to East after a career which began at the Adelaide "Advertiser" newspaper and included stints as a Ministerial media advisor, a producer at three ABC radio networks, and as a business correspondent for international newspapers such as the "South China Morning Post" and the London "Evening Standard", focussing on the region's powerhouse financial markets.

Colquhoun has also had experience inside Asia, working as the "Evening Standard's" Asia-Pacific business correspondent from 1998-2001, where he covered the regional financial crisis and the fall of Suharto in Indonesia.

His responsibility at East and Partners includes editing East's annual showcase publication "Wholesale Banking in Australia: Sector Review 2002" and the fortnightly "Asian Corporate Banker", together with working alongside client banks in utilising East's market research and analysis programs.

"I'm looking forward to adding value to East's research not only to create a higher awareness of our work out in the market, but also to make a contribution to our client communication and relationships," he said.
