UniCredit’s New CEO Revamps CIB Division

UniCredit’s New CEO Revamps CIB Division

(22 July 2021 – Europe) UniCredit’s newest CEO, Andrea Orcel, is revamping the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) division through a senior management overhaul.

UniCredit’s latest CIB senior appointments include:

  • Richard Burton – Head of Corporate and Investment Banking
  • Gofferdo Guizzardi – Head of Financing and Advisory
  • Luca Corsini – Head of Global Transaction Banking

There has been a reduction in the number of co-heads and internal committees who used to lead the top corporate functions under previous CEO Jean Pierre Mustier. The move is designed to simplify the top management structure after UniCredit previously replaced the current Executive Management Committee (EMC) comprising 27 people with a 15-member Group Executive Committee (GEC).

“Streamlining our reporting lines and downsizing the CIB executive committee will help to facilitate faster decision-making processes with clear accountability” commented UniCredit Head of Corporate and Investment Banking, Richard Burton.
