UOB Digital Bank Head Departs

(29 June 2020 – Singapore) Managing director and group head of UOB's TMRW Digital Group, which operates an ASEAN-focused mobile-only bank, Dennis Khoo will be departing the bank to pursue other opportunities.

TMRW is the first mobile-only bank designed for ASEAN millennials who prefer to bank on their mobile phones, anywhere, and at any time. It was first rolled out in Thailand in 2019, with Indonesia following in 2020.

He is reportedly joining a consortium backed by TikTok owner ByteDance, which has applied for a digital banking license in Singapore. Mr Lam joined UOB in 2005 and has held senior roles across functions and markets, including in personal financial services, wholesale banking and technology and operations. He also spent six years in UOB Malaysia, before his appointment in Indonesia in 2016. Before joining UOB he spent 12 years at Standard Chartered Bank, 12 years at HP and various technology companies based in Singapore, Hong Kong and the United States.

Taking over Khoo's role is Kevin Lam, the current country CEO of UOB Indonesia. Lam joined UOB in 2005 and has held senior roles across functions and markets, including in personal financial services, wholesale banking, and technology and operations, before taking on his current role in 2016.
