First banking data warehouse in Middle Kingdom

(China) - The China Construction Bank (CCB) is building the first enterprise data warehouse in China's banking history. The Bank is looking to accelerate the modernisation of China's banking industry and raise competitiveness by adopting NCR Teradata's enterprise data warehousing technology, with the first phase of the project centralising the Bank's data across different business functions and branches.

The system will also be used in developing related applications such as customer relationship management and customer profitability analysis for the Bank.

The China Construction Bank project is the third terabyte-class enterprise data warehousing project that Teradata is implementing in mainland China, although it's the first such implementation in the country's banking industry.

China Construction Bank (CCB) is the third-largest state-owned commercial bank in China, with business mainly in medium and long-term lending. Based in Beijing, CCB has operations across all China through over 20,000 branches and presences in international financial centers including Hong Kong, London, New York, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Singapore and Seoul. Fortune global 500 ranked CCB as the 53rd largest commercial bank in the world with US$12,616 million revenue last year.
