GSJBW banker joins Virgin Blue board
(1 October 2004 – Australia) Airline Virgin Blue has appointed former Goldman Sachs JBWere investment banker David Baxby as a non executive director to its board.
Baxby advised Virgin Blue’s initial public offering in December 2003 and was appointed chief executive officer of Virgin Management Asia Pacific earlier in the year.
"David has been nominated by Virgin Group and will act as one of its two representatives on the board," Virgin Blue company secretary Scott Swift said.
The airline said Stephen Murphy would retire as non executive director. He was appointed chief executive of Virgin Group and will continue his association with the airline as an alternative director for Baxby and another board member Patrick McCall.
