Indonesian bank to offer Renminbi

(1 May 2012 – Indonesia) Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s largest bank in terms of assets, loans and deposits expects to provide Renminbi financing services to mainland clients within three years through its Shanghai branch. The bank is the only Indonesian bank that has a full branch office in China. The Shanghai branch focuses on international banking, including trade financing, trade services, project financing and treasury transactions for existing Bank Mandiri customers, particularly those that do business in China and other Asian countries.

President Zulkifli Zaini said the Shanghai branch will allow the bank to further support the expansion of Indonesian companies in China and will also back the Indonesian government’s export promotion program.
