Mastercard names Gautam Aggarwal as South Asia, India Head
(16 January 2023 – India) Mastercard has appointed Gautam Aggarwal as division president for South Asia and country corporate officer, India.
Aggarwal will be in charge of operations across India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Maldives, and Bhutan succeeding Nikhil Sahni, who will assume a new regional role within Mastercard. His mandate covers product management, engagements with customers and regulators, as well as, marketing.
Aggarwal joined Mastercard in 2014, bringing with him more than a decade of experience across technology, sales and business development, product management, strategy and M&A.
Most recently he served as Regional Chief Technology Officer for APAC, spearheading Mastercard’s US$1 billion plus technology investments across markets that include India, Australia, China, Japan and Southeast Asia.
“As the economy enters the next phase of its growth journey in South Asia, we look forward to deepening partnerships with stakeholders in India and across the sub-continent under his leadership,” said Mastercard Asia Pacific President, Ari Sarkar.
