OCBC names DBS veteran as head of global wholesale banking

OCBC names DBS veteran as head of global wholesale banking

(15 September 2021 – Singapore) OCBC has named DBS veteran Tan Teck Long as its head of global wholesale banking, which is part of the bank's plans to grow and expand across its key markets.

In his new role, Tan will have global responsibility for OCBC’s wholesale banking businesses, including global corporate banking, global commercial banking, global transaction banking, emerging business, global financial institutions, group investment banking, and the bank's Mezzanine Capital Unit. His appointment will take effect on March 15, 2022.

Tan joins from DBS, where he has been the chief risk officer since 2018. His previous positions at DBS included the head of the corporate bank and chief operating officer of the institutional bank, as well as the head of DBS's institutional banking group in China.

He also currently serves as the supervisor of the board of DBS in China, and is also a member of the management board of the risk management institute at the National University of Singapore.

Wholesale banking is a key area in the bank's plan to expand in its core markets, OCBC said.
