RBS dispenses ATM holiday goodwill
(19 December 2007 – UK) British bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, is deploying an ATM service that dispenses emergency cash to customers who lose their debit cards over the Christmas and New Year period.
RBS said it would provide a simple and cardless service allowing customers to access up to £300 in emergency cash from RBS Group ATMs which also include NatWest, Ulster Bank and Tesco Personal Finance.
Customers can call the bank's helpline to report lost or stolen cards and if they respond correctly to three security questions, they will receive a pin number to use at an RBS Group ATM.
The pin number lasts for just three hours.
