Westpac NZ Announces New CEO
(24 September 2021 – New Zealand) Westpac is welcoming Catherine McGrath from Barclays Bank as chief executive officer (CEO) for Westpac New Zealand (NZ).
McGrath will take over Simon Power who has acted in the role while the Big Four major conducted a global executive talent search. Power will return to his role as general manager, institutional and business banking. McGrath is set to commence in the role in November 2021 after working at Barclays Bank in London since 2013. In her most recent role she was head of channels for Barclays.

In our recent portfolio review of the business, we identified ways to improve service for customers, including improving our digital capabilities, an area in which Catherine has considerable management expertise" commented Westpac Group CEO Peter King.
