(28 February 2007 – Europe) Credit Suisse is reportedly exploring the idea of sending up to half of its Switzerland based IT roles to cheaper offshore locations.Up to half of the 5000 IT staff currently located in the bank’s home market could lose their jobs if the investment bank transfers less skilled jobs to its centre in Pune, India.
Credit Suisse is looking to save more than US$2 billion through such an arrangement.
The bank also has a back office centre in Singapore with some 900 staff.
