(17 October 2006 – Australia) HBOS Australia head of Retail Chris Whitehead will be replaced by Ian Corfield who will relocate from Ireland to take up the Perth based position in April 2007.Whitehead will take up a secondment with HBOS in Scotland as regional sales manager for Scotland West.
Corfield is currently executive director, Retail and Intermediary for HBOS Ireland and the bank will look to him to repeat the success HBOS has had in the Irish markets in Australia.
Corfield will report to HBOS Australia chief executive David Willis, who said the “interchange” of talent between Australia and the UK showed the benefits of being a global organisation.
“Ian has a strong track record of achievement growing retail banking in Ireland,” Willis said.
“He has significant skills and experience that we will leverage extensively as we push forward with our growth plans,” he said.
