BOQ’s ATM network grows

(7 February 2005 – Australia) Bank of Queensland has added 116 ATMS to its rapidly expanding network after buying out the ATM contracts from Autocash Systems Australia for A$800,000.BOQ managing director David Liddy said the acquisition formed part of the bank’s strategy to boost its footprint both in Queensland and across Australia.

The new addition means BOQ now has a total of 2,275 ATMs, 1,400 of which are branded BOQ.

“These new ATMs are primarily in New South Wales, strengthening our position in that State, which is also one of the prime focuses of our interstate expansion. This will bring total ATMs in NSW to more than 450, with another 500 in Victoria and 550 in Queensland,” Liddy said.

“This gives us a strong ATM network and excellent coverage of the eastern seaboard. As our prime branch expansion targets are NSW and Victoria, this is an important step in our future growth,” he said.

BOQ has the second largest fleet of ATMs in Australia. Last year the bank bought third party ATM deployer ATM Solutions Australasia for A$16 million.
