(17 August 2004 – Australia) ANZ has appointed former Amcor CFO David Meiklejohn to its Board of Directors, effective 1 October.Meiklejohn is chairman of PaperlinX and SPC Ardmona, and a director of One Steel and WMC Resources. He previously held directorships at Colonial, GasNet Australia, Treasury Corporation of Victoria and Mayne Nickless.
ANZ chairman, Charles Goode, said the appointment of Meiklejohn – along with Dr Gregory Clark and John Morschel who both joined the board earlier this year – allowed the board to manage a transition with the planned retirements of John Dahlsen and Brian Scott.
“It is pleasing therefore to have someone of David’s calibre and experience join the board. He brings with him a solid financial background as well as the experience of being a director of major Australian companies,” Goode said.
