(Australia) Commonwealth Bank of Australia has poured water over speculation that it will line up with Westpac and ANZ to bid for National Bank of New Zealand.CBA issued a statement to “clarify its position”, citing “continued speculation and inconsistent media reporting” as the reason for coming out with the announcement.
“The Bank is not involved in the process related to the possible divestment of NBNZ by Lloyds TSB Group plc,” the statement said.
