(India) – US giant Citibank has announced plans to strengthen its branch presence in India, with the announcement that it will open up to 70 new branches in as many as 40 Indian cities.Citibank currently has around 20 branches in India, but according to the bank’s Indian chief, Sanjay Nayar, it is focused on winning more business in a retail sector which is growing at around 30 percent each year.
Citibank, which recently celebrated 100 years in India, will also market its entire retail product range to Indian consumers.
