(Australia) – National Australia Bank (NAB) is reportedly considering a hostile acquisition bid for UK-based bank Abbey National following the breakdown in talks between the supposed merger partners.Apparently, talks came to a halt as a result of NAB’s wish to manage the merged business from Australia rather than the Abbey part of the merged entity continuing under UK management.
