(22 September 2025 – United Kingdom) The UK and US have launched a joint Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future to examine collaboration on digital assets, capital markets, and other “innovative financial activities”.
Created by the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer and the US Treasury Secretary, the group will deliver recommendations within 180 days on near-term cooperation in digital assets as regulatory frameworks evolve, alongside proposals for longer-term collaboration and wholesale market innovation.
The taskforce will also assess ways to strengthen cross-border capital raising by easing burdens for UK and US firms.
Chaired by HM Treasury and the US Treasury, and involving regulators from both sides, the initiative will gather input from industry stakeholders before presenting its findings.
