Citi Expands FX Capabilities Across Asia with Seven Senior Hires

(28 November 2025 – Asia) Citi has strengthened its FX franchise across Japan, Asia North & Australia (JANA), and Asia South, adding seven new specialists to its corporate, institutional, and trading teams since September.

In corporate FX sales, Manoj Goel has been appointed head of corporate FX sales for India. Goel joins from HSBC, bringing 23 years of experience in Indian markets. In Singapore, Cassalynne Lou joins from Barclays, adding seven years of FX sales expertise.

Citi’s institutional FX sales team has also seen three senior additions. Yusuke Aita, formerly at BNP Paribas, joins in Tokyo as a director with 17 years’ FX trading and sales experience. In Hong Kong, Renee Gao joins as a director after covering EM fixed income and FX at HSBC. Mathew Lim joins in Singapore as VP, after roles at UBS and Credit Agricole specialising in bank and private bank FX coverage.

The FX trading desk has added two hires: Nicky Lam joins as director in the G10 FX options team from Nomura, where he led G10 options for APAC; and Jonathan Chua joins as SGD trader and STIR specialist, bringing experience from Wells Fargo, NatWest Markets, and Maybank.
