(1 June 2026 – United States) Citigroup CEO Jane Fraser and CFO Gonzalo Luchetti have announced the bank’s next head of strategy, M&A and investor relations.
Fraser’s chief of staff, Margo Pilic, will take on the core decision making role after years alongside Fraser who has been CEO since 2021. The bank is combining roles under Pilic (investor relations was previously a separate position) in a move that “reflects the increasingly close connection between how we define our strategy and how we deliver to investors” Luchetti stated.
“The whole firm would be grateful if they knew all she has done to help me keep a clear head during this time” Fraser commented on Pilic’s appointment.
Jenn Landis, who has led investor and rating agency relations since 2021, will become finance chief for the bank’s markets business, starting in August.
Tim Karpoff, Citi’s head of strategy and M&A, is set to leave the company to formally join a non-profit voting-rights organization he helped to found. Karpoff, who joined Citi from Barclays in 2021 “was part of some of the most consequential decisions the firm has made in recent years,” Luchetti commented.
Rafael Soeda, who has been with Citi since 2010 and was most recently COO for services, will become Fraser’s new chief of staff.
“As the bank turns to the next phase of our strategy and growth, broad business exposure and operational experience are important priorities” Fraser commented.
