(3 June 2026 – Spain) Juan Suárez Romero has been named Santander CIB’s new head of trade and working capital for Europe.
Romero, who began the role in May, previously served as global head of working capital origination at the Spanish lender for just over five years.
Based in Madrid, he reports to Enrique Rico, Santander’s global head of trade and working capital solution, as well as to Bart Timmermans, head of global transactional banking for Europe.
Romero is a Santander veteran who has been with the Spanish lending giant since 2007, holding roles across export, commodity and corporate finance, including stints in the bank’s Chile and US offices.
