(2 September 2026 – Asia) Citi has announced plans to grow its North Asia and Japan corporate banking desk network by 25 percent, adding dedicated bankers across six new locations worldwide.
New investment will be directed across South America, Europe, and parts of Asia to support corporate clients headquartered in Japan, Korea, mainland China, and Taiwan as they expand into global markets.
As part of the expansion, Citi is extending its dedicated China desk network with new hubs in Brazil and Europe, following the earlier launch of a Korea desk in Chicago. The desks will offer a full suite of banking, markets, and services products — including financing, foreign exchange and hedging, payments, cash management, and trade finance.
The move reflects strong client growth across corridors connecting North Asia and Japan with global markets. “These investments underline our commitment to clients to invest further to support their growth and expansion,” said JianXun Toh, head of corporate banking for JANA.
