(14 September 2026 – Global) Citi has appointed Manish Bajaj as head of trade for Japan, Asia North and Australia (JANA), Shalin Shroff as head of trade for Asia South, and Amir Khan as head of trade for the Middle East and Africa — three appointments within its Trade and Working Capital Solutions business reflecting the firm’s focus on key growth corridors.
Bajaj is a 20-year Citi veteran, most recently head of corporate banking for the Philippines. Shroff brings nearly two decades of Citi experience, having most recently led trade and working capital sales across ASEAN and the Indian Subcontinent. Khan joins from the role of CCO and banking head for Qatar, with cluster responsibility across Qatar, Oman, Bahrain and Pakistan, and has been with Citi since 2007.
The appointments come as Citi’s trade business — which facilitated approximately $1 trillion in financing in 2025 and counts around 440,000 buyer-supplier relationships globally — seeks to capitalise on shifting trade patterns across these regions. Research shows trade flows between North and East Asia and the Middle East and Africa have grown by more than 50 percent in recent years, driven by supply chain diversification, manufacturing realignment and rising investment flows.
