(19 October 2026 – Global) Mastercard and BVNK have launched the Mastercard Global Money Platform, a single-API infrastructure that enables banks, fintechs, and enterprises to hold and convert fiat currencies and stablecoins, issue stablecoin-linked cards, and send payouts into local bank accounts across more than 130 countries.
The platform is the first major product integration since Mastercard completed its acquisition of London-based stablecoin infrastructure provider BVNK in August 2026, a deal valued at up to $1.8 billion.
It connects BVNK’s stablecoin engine with Mastercard’s global payments capabilities — including Mastercard Move, its global money transfer network — through a single integration. Nuvei and Marqeta are among the first companies preparing to integrate the platform, with broader currency coverage targeted for 2027.
