(18 June 2020 – Europe) ING has appointed Steven van Rijswijk as the new CEO of the group effective from 1 July.
Rijwijk has worked for the multinational Dutch bank for over 25 years and has now been promoted from the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The bank has been in search for another candidate to take over van Rijwijk’s prior role . During the executive search, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Tanate Phutrakul has assumed responsibility for his position on the executive board. Mr van Rijwijk’s predecessor Ralph Hamers has left the bank to become the new CEO of Swiss Bank UBS.
