(13 April 2016 – Singapore) Australian based payments processing company Mint Payments has announced that it has partnered up with Singapore's Network for Electronic Transfers (NETS) to continue its Asia expansion plans.

The deal is includes a five-year agreement with an option to renew, and covers Mint's full suite of payment solutions.

Mint and NETS will develop and launch Singapore's first NETS branded unified mPOS solution enabling merchants to accept all major credit cards and NETS debit cards through popular payment methods such as contactless, chip & PIN and magnetic swipe.

Andrew Teoh, Mint’s head of international business, says partnering with NETS gives Mint a major push in the region. “We are pleased to be working with Singapore’s largest merchant acquirer and only debit card provider,” he said.

According to reports, one third of Singaporeans uses NETS every day to make payments across a network of 91,000 acceptance points nation-wide. Last year, it processed S$23 billion in transactions from NETS debit, CashCard, FlashPay and eNETS.
