Banks rate in attractiveness

(25 November 2009 – Global) A study involving nearly 120,000 students at top academic institutions revealed that eight major banks are among the world’s Top 50 most favoured business employers.The first global index compiled by Universum, an employer branding company, based it global rankings on employer preferences of students from the US, Japan, China, Germany, France, UK, Italy, Russia, Spain, Canada and India.

Despite the negative publicity banks have received during the global financial crisis they still excel in the arena of ‘talent attraction and retention’ and are among the world’s most powerful employer brands.

Goldman Sachs was the most attractive, rating fourth internationally and J.P. Morgan ranking seventh overall.

Morgan Stanley placed 15th, Deutsche Bank 19th, Citigroup 21st, HSBC 22nd, Credit Suisse 25th and UBS 28th.

The top three businesses listed placed Google first, PricewaterhouseCoopers second and Microsoft third.
