Executive Changes

(27 February 2006 – Australia) Bendigo Bank has appointed Deborah Radford as a new non executive director of the bank’s board.Bendigo said Radford was the first new director appointed to the board since Neal Axelby and Terry O’Dwyer, who joined the bank as part of the First Australian Building Society merger in 2000.

The bank said a further board appointment will be made within the next few months.

Radford is a former executive director of boutique transaction management and consultancy company, Firecone, and is currently working as an independent consultant.

Bendigo said she had extensive government experience and has worked in banking for more than 16 years, specialising in mergers and acquisitions and property transactions.

Bendigo chairman Richard Guy said Radford’s experience would be a welcome addition to the board, in particular her expertise in the areas of banking and finance and environmental sustainability.

“Although our core business continues to be banking, our company has a strong reputation as a good corporate citizen, particularly in the areas of sustainable communities and the environment,” he said.

“Our work with communities in establishing community owned bank branches, our growing suite of environmentally friendly products and our commitment to sustainable communities are all a good fit with Deborah’s skills base,” Guy said.
