(22 June 2012 – New Zealand) Bank of New Zealand (BNZ) chief financial officer Ken Christie will return to Australia at the end of the year to take up a job with parent company National Australia Bank (NAB).It is not confirmed what Christie’s role back at NAB will be or who will replace him as CFO for BNZ.

BNZ chief executive Andrew Thorburn heaped praise on him, saying the bank’s strong financial position “is due in a large part to Mr Christie’s vision, guidance and leadership”.

Christie joined BNZ in 2007, leaving his role as chief risk officer for NABCapital, where he managed a team of risk professionals in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and United States.

His career has been international, having worked in banking, finance and consulting posts at a number of global financial institutions in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia.
