Cashcard to list in 2004

(Australia) Australia’s biggest automatic teller machine provider Cashcard has said it aims to list on the Australian Stock Exchange before the end of 2004.Cashcard managing director Greg Baker told AAP the company has an objective to list on the ASX “definitely by December 2004”.

Formed ten years ago, the company has a network of more than 8000 ATMs and processes some half a billion transactions each year.

Cashcard purchased the Movieline ATM network earlier this year and Direct Cash last week. The company, which has averaged around 25 percent compound growth over the past ten years, has indicated it will continue with its strategy of growing via acquisitions.

The company also launched its Monthly Retail Activity Index this week, which collates information from daily EFTPOS retail payments transactions. The report showed that in June retail growth stabilised at 0.3 percent.
