(28 August 2009 – Australia) CBA’s mobile phone banking platform has clocked up more than 100 thousand regular users during the first six months of operation, according to a statement released by the Bank.CBA executive general manager retail products Michael Cant described the customer response to the mobile banking as positive. He mentioned that more than 180 thousand customers have so far used the service, with 100 thousand accessing it on a regular basis.

Mr Cant said that iPhone users led the way when it comes to using the Bank’s mobile banking services. But, he added, a solid proportion of customers had logged on using a range of other mobile devices.

CBA mobile banking allows the Bank’s customers to access a range of banking services, including the ability to check balances, transfer funds, pay bills via BPAY or to locate their nearest branch or ATM.

The Bank said that the most popular features to date have been viewing transactions, funds transfer and making BPAY payments.
